Lydia “Grannie” Hein, 87, died April 13 at Hillsboro Community Hospital.

A memorial service was Monday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church with interment at French Creek Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 31, 1928, to Henry and Helena Adrian in Buhler.

She married Emice Hein on Sept. 29, 1940 in Buhler.

She was the founder of Hillsboro-based Grannie’s Mustard.

Survivors include sons, Kenneth Hein of Durham, Barry Harms of Wilmington, Delaware, and Eugene Hein of Newton; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her husband, and a son, Michael Hein.

Memorials may be made to the Lydia Hein memorial fund in care of Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
