Lucille E. Diller

Lucille F. Diller, 72, went home to be with her Lord at 4:15 a.m. Sunday at her home surrounded by family.
She was born March 7, 1938, in Newton, the daughter of the late Gustav and Louise (Busenitz) Entz.
Mrs. Diller attended elementary school in Peabody and high school at Berean Academy in Elbing. She graduated from Grace University, Omaha, Neb., in 1960 and Taylor University, Upland, Ind., in 1961.
She attended graduate school at Emporia State Teachers College, Wichita State University, and the University of Washington in Seattle. She received a master degree in elementary education in 1965 from California State University.
After teaching a year at Kendall Elementary School in Marion, Ind., Mrs. Diller moved to Los Angeles and taught three years in Valle Lindo School District, El Monte, Calif., then three years in Santa Monica School District. After returning to Indiana, she taught special education and grade levels from 1988 to 2004 in the Van Buren and Upland schools.
Mrs. Diller was a member of the Upland Community Church, where she was a member of the choir and several women’s groups.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Dr. Timothy Diller; four children, David and wife Julia of Boston, Jason and wife Kari of Southeast Asia, Jeremy and wife Lorie of San Antonio, and Elizabeth Roth and husband Trent of Indianapolis; two brothers, Clifford of Peabody and Elwood of Wichita; a sister, Annabelle Wells of Kearney, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services have been held.
