The fourth annual Irish Stew Cookoff sponsored by the Canton American Legion Riders took place at the Legion headquarters on Saturday.
This year, eight teams gathered to show their cooking skills. There was corn beef and cabbage stew, beef stews of all kinds, and the traditional Irish stew made with lamb.
Second place went to the Red Solo Cup Family, which also won People’s Choice. Their stew was a traditional beef stew made with the Lowden family recipe.
Peabody American Legion Auxiliary also participated in the cook off. Last year they took home the People’s Choice award.
