Louise Ensz
Services for former Hillsboro resident Louise Anna (Peters) Ensz, 88, who died July 22 at Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita, were Tuesday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, rural Hillsboro.
Born June 19, 1938, near Ithaca, Michigan, to Francis and Anna B. (Mininger) Peters, she attended first and second grade there before moving with her parents to Walnut Hill, Florida, and completing her schooling at Ernest Ward School near her family’s farm. She was baptized Jan. 21, 1951, by pastor Harry Harms.
After caring for Navajo children at a home in Gallup, New Mexico, she married Abe Ensz on Sept. 18, 1960. They moved to Moundridge a few months ago.
Survivors include her husband; children Bonnie Hiebert, Orlin Ensz, and Glen Ensz of Hillsboro, Irene Koehn of Versailles, Missouri, and Rebecca Wiebe of Bloomfield, Iowa; siblings Wilbert Peters, Lois Eicher, and Kathleen Wenger; 19 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
Brothers Verle and Vern and sister Beatrice Riggs preceded her in death.
A memorial has been established with Moundridge Manor.
