Losses end Warrior seasons
Long winless seasons for Peabody-Burns boys’ and girls’ basketball teams came to an end Tuesday in substate games in Peabody.
The girls squared off against 7-12 Flinthills High, and the visitors experienced little resistance as they rolled to a 59-23 win.
“I’m beyond proud of this group and the way they came out every night to compete regardless of scores or records,” coach Scott Bauer said. “We played hard on both ends of the court tonight until the end.”
The winner of the boys’ game against Chase County would pick up its first win of the season, with both teams coming in 0-18.
Peabody-Burns came out on the short end of a 69-37 score.
