Robert Marshall

Robert Marshall, 63, who was band instructor in Peabody-Burns schools for 22 years, died July 28 at his home in Peabody.

Marshall, director of educational music for Senseney Music of Wichita, also owned a family business, Marshall Auction Service of Peabody, and was partner and broker with Marshall-Avery Realtors of Peabody.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peabody United Methodist Church. Stephen Humber and the Rev. David Ragland will officiate.

After the service, friends and relatives will be invited to join the family for a celebration of life on the Marshall Warehouse lawn on South Walnut Street in Peabody.

Born Sept. 28, 1946, in Cedar Vale, to Eugene Clarence and Juanita Ellen (Adams) Marshall, he married Susan Virginia Fred, now news editor of the Peabody Gazette-Bulletin, on May 30, 1968, in Pittsburg.

She and his mother, who resides in Omaha, survive along with two daughters, Morgan Marler and Lindsey Marshall of Peabody; their husbands, Shane Marler and Jerod Lowe; and a sister, Elsie Kay Marshall of Arkansas City. His father preceded him in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Marshall Music Scholarship, administered by Senseney Music Foundation, or Peabody Main Street Association.

Baker Funeral Home of Peabody is in charge of arrangements.
