Former homemaker Lois L. Perkins, 102, of McPherson, died Friday in McPherson.
She was born July 30, 1914, to Hardy Wallace and Barbara Lucretia (Burns) Fortner in McPherson.
A graduate of Fort Smith, Arkansas, High School, she married Vernon Perkins on Nov. 10, 1933, at Van Buren, Arkansas.
She was a member of Free Methodist Church, McPherson. She was a gardener, reader, seamstress, and volunteer at Central Christian College.
She was preceded in death by sons Gerald, Stanley, Vernon Jr., and Chester Perkins; infant sister, Betty Jean Perkins; brothers, Robert and Gordon Fortner; and half-brother, Kenneth Whitney.
She is survived by daughters Earline Magathan of Marion, Nadine Bonham of McPherson, Barbara Huff of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mary Kluss of Nickerson, and Erma Perkins of McPherson; 22 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was Tuesday at Free Methodist Church, McPherson, with interment at McPherson Cemetery.
