Neighbors helping neighbors
To the editor:
I was coming home from Newton after the June 30 rainstorms and was surprised to see a fire truck in front of my house.
A large tree had been knocked over, landing on my porch.
Although there was no fire, I appreciated the fire department being there, as they were checking on everyone’s safety.
The next morning, after church, my neighbors were out with chainsaws cutting up the tree. It’s completely cleaned up now.
These random acts of kindness mean so much. In a small town, it’s a great feeling when everyone helps everyone else.
Thanks to the fire department, and the Lewises and Dunahoos.
