To the editor:

I received the Peabody Gazette-Bulletin newspaper today. I enjoyed reading it as I was raised in Florence.

But it reminded me that I should have informed you that my husband, Harvey Dean, died April 23, 2010. He died after a long bout with both cancer and heart problems.

Harvey E. Dean and I were married for 66 years. He was in the Peabody High School class of 1940.

He always enjoyed receiving your paper and having it read to him, as he had been blind for several years.

I would like to thank you for sending it to him.
