LETTERS: Grant is boon for Adventure Club

To the editor

For a second year, the Peabody Community Foundation has awarded the Peabody-Burns High School Adventure Club with a PCF grant.

Budget cuts within the education system have made it difficult, if not impossible at times to fund new innovative programs or clubs.

The Peabody Community Foundation has made it possible for the club to continue growing and developing, and their support has allowed the club to participate in and experience adventure-based activities such as mountain-biking, kayaking
rock climbing and rappelling, zip-lining, hiking and more.

With funds from the Peabody Community Foundation, the club has been able to purchase a needed road maintenance and rescue tool kit for the mountain-biking excursions, and the funds have helped purchase needed safety equipment for kayaking.

The PBHS Adventure Club is a part of our school and communities. We invite those of you in our community to become an active part of the PBHS Adventure Club. Come and bike with us. Come enjoy the kayaking and hiking. It’s a great source of exercise, emotional growth, and a wonderful way to enjoy God’s great outdoors.
