Lenard Price, 79, died March 21, 2012, at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan following a long-term illness.

He was born June 22, 1932, in Erwin, Tenn., to James and Deckie Blankenship Price.

After serving in the U.S. Army, he settled in Junction City, where he was a businessman until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence, Warren, Ferrell, and James Price.

He is survived by his companion, Sonnie Gibbons, of Junction City; his children, Melinda Gadberry of Easley, S.C., David Price of Topeka, Suzan Stroup of Florence, and John Price of Winfield; stepsons Kelly Hodge and Jeff Hodge, both of Junction City; two brothers, Delano Price of Maple Lake, Minn., and Jerrell Price of Nashville, Tenn.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial visitation was Saturday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. A memorial fund has been established for the Alzheimer’s Association.
