Leadership applicants sought

Marion County residents who want to improve their communities are being invited to participate in the county’s revised leadership program.

The six-week program, offered on consecutive Thursdays from April 6 to May 18, is designed to teach leadership skills while participants learn about community challenges and strengths.

Up to 20 participants are being sought for the program, facilitated by Kansas Leadership Center and paid for by an endowment held by Central Kansas Community Foundation.

The first and last session will be in the evening. Other sessions will be full or half-days. Times vary. Participants will make connections, gain insights, and practice skills to make progress on local challenges.

The restructured program produced 10 graduates this fall after a seven-year hiatus.

“All are invited to join the conversation and work toward meaningful change,” county clerk and leadership committee member Tina Spencer said in a release. “Everyone has the power to make a difference.”

Applications and program schedules are available under “News and announcements” at marioncoks.net.

Applicants must commit to participating actively in sessions. Registration costs $50. Application deadline is March 10. Meals, transportation, materials, and tuition will be covered by the endowment.
