Lady Warriors win one at Remington

The PBHS Lady Warriors recorded one victory and one loss at Remington on Tuesday. The squad defeated Hutch Trinity 18-25, 25-16, 28-26, but lost to Remington 16-25, 12-25.

The team will finish regular season play at Remington and then compete at league.

Hutch Trinity

Kills from Danielle Savage and Michaela Methvin pushed the Lady Warriors to the early 5-1 advantage in game one. Aces from Methvin and Traylee Woodruff added to the Lady Warrior offense, and Hutch Trinity came back, 11-10. Kills from Embry Hodges, Julie Wedel, and Savage kept the score close at 14-15, but PBHS receiving errors boosted Hutch Trinity to a 14-20 lead. Despite kills from Savage and Wedel, PBHS lost, 18-25

The Lady Warriors again came out strong early in game two with kills from Wedel, Savage, Methvin, and Hodges. A Woodruff ace gave the team an 8-6 lead, but Hutch Trinity came back to tie the game at 14-14. Methvin sparked the team with her service game, including two aces to build a 19-14 lead. Two kills by Savage, two blocks by Hodges, and a kill by Hodges helped the Lady Warriors to take the game-two victory, 25-16.

PBHS never led or trailed by as many as seven points throughout much of game three. The Lady Celtics, up by two, took a timeout, after which Wedel came up with two kills to tie the game at 22. Hodges had two blocks, with the last tying the game at 25. Sarah Hofkamp ended game three with a kill and PBHS won game three, 28-26.

Remington

PBHS trailed early in game one. A Wedel kill and a Savage ace put the Lady Warriors within four, 6-10, but Remington kept building on their lead. Hodges and Wedel had blocks in the game and Methvin, Hodges, Savage, and Wedel all recorded kills but PBHS lost, 16-25.

Early PBHS scoring came from kills by Methvin and Savage. Woodruff served an ace to help the Lady Warriors to go within two, 6-8, in game two. PBHS errors then paced Remington to a 10-point lead. PBHS lost game two, 12-25.

Methvin — 9 kills, 4 aces, 7 digs, 2 blocks

Wedel — 6 kills, 3 assists, 1 ace, 9 digs, 3 blocks

Hodges — 4 kills, 3 digs, 5 blocks

Woodruff — 15 assists, 3 aces, 8 digs

Kaitlyn Preheim — 10 digs

Mikayla Winter — 3 assists, 1 dig

Hofkamp — 1 kill, 3 assists, 2 digs, 1 block
