Lady Warriors shoot down Falcons, lose to Bluebirds

Staff writer

Peabody-Burns Lady Warriors didn’t end their season without a fight.

The Warriors faced the Fairfield Falcons on Saturday at sub-state, and battled to their ninth win of the season.

“I am happy to add one more win to our record,” head coach Sheena Gann said. “I feel like we played well.”

The Warriors won their first set against the Falcons, and lost the second set.

The Warriors managed to shoot down the Falcons for a 25-21 set win, the match victory.

After the Falcons, the Warriors faced Goessel Bluebirds, who hold a season record of 39-0.

The Bluebirds ended the Warriors’ season in two sets, 3-25 and 5-25.

Even though they are done for the season, Gann is already looking forward to working with her team this coming summer and picking up where they left off.

“With this being my first year as head coach, I feel this season is a good starting point for those to come,” Gann said. “We tripled our wins and have built a strong bond between players and coaches. I’m excited to see what the future brings.”
