The Lady Warriors lost 36-10 to the Eagles Friday night at Elyria Christian School.
Coach Travis Schafer said the Warriors defense had improved from previous games.
“We mixed it up on defense and transitioned well between zone and man,” Schafer said. “Our full court press also seemed to work well.”
Lately, the team has been focusing on shooting drills in practice. However, Schafer said their shots just didn’t fall the way he would have liked.
“Although we did have more energy overall compared to the last games, we missed a lot of layups, chip shots, and three pointers,” he said.
Schafer attributed the scoring deficiency to a lack of experience.
“We have a young team, but we are just going to keep plugging away,” he said.
Centre
The Lady Warriors lost 67-23 to the Centre Cougars Friday at the basketball tournament in Centre.
Peabody-Burns scored three points each quarter excluding the second quarter in which they scored 14 points.
The Warriors scored 15 of their 23 points from the three-point line. They are now 2-9 for the season.
Their next game in the Centre tournament is against Wakefield.
