Lady Warriors lose at substate

The seventh-seed Lady Warriors lost to number-two seed Goessel in the first round of substate play at Herington on Saturday. The team finishes the season with a record of 10-22.

PBHS trailed 4-1 early in game one. Danielle Savage recorded three kills, but the team still trailed by three 5-8. Two Julie Wedel kills kept the gap at three 10-13. Lady Warrior errors aided Goessel late in the contest and PBHS lost 15-25.

Michaela Methvin made a kill in the early points of game two and the PHS squad was down by one, 2-3. Embry Hodges and Sarah Hofkamp scored a point with a block, and Hodges, Wedel and Savage each had kills in the game. Methvin also had an ace but PBHS lost game two 13-25.
