The first round of substate was the last game of the 2010 season for the Peabody-Burns High School Lady Warriors. With the 55-11 road loss to Madison on March 1, the team finished the season 5-16.
Madison opened the scoring in the first quarter and led, 4-0, with 5 minutes, 45 seconds on the clock. Michaela Methvin put the Lady Warriors on the board with a basket, but Madison added 5 points more. Danielle Savage cut the 7-point Madison edge to 5 points with a basket with just under 4 minutes left in the period. Madison added 4 points before Savage added another 2 for the Lady Warriors. Madison ended the quarter with a 5-point addition and PBHS trailed, 18-6, at the end of the first.
Madison ran up 18 points in the second period. PBHS had a basket from Savage with 15 seconds left in the period. Madison had the 31-8 advantage at the half.
Madison continued to score freely in the third quarter. Tori Schroeder had a 2-pointer in the period for the only PBHS points. The Lady Warriors were behind, 50-10, at the end of the third quarter.
Savage added a free throw in the fourth for the only PBHS score. Madison claimed the victory over PBHS, 55-11.
Savage had 7 points and Methvin and Schroeder each had a basket.
