Lady Warriors drop 2 games

The Peabody-Burns girls’ basketball team suffered two losses this past week. On Feb. 12, the Warriors were defeated at home by Little River, 43-24. On Friday, they lost at Moundridge, 57-22. The team finished the regular season Tuesday with a road game at Hope.

Little River

The PBHS offense stayed with Little River in the first period. Rayna Barnes led the team with four points in the quarter that ended with the Warriors down, 12-10. Paige Lewis, McKenzie Ensminger, and Brianna Larsen each added two points.

Again, Barnes scored four points in the second quarter, but that was the only offense for PBHS. Little River dumped in 18 and took a 30-14 lead at halftime.

Ensminger and Barnes each had two points in the third quarter. Little River added seven points. PBHS trailed, 37-18, at the end of the period.

Both offenses earned six points in the fourth quarter. Barnes had four and Brandee Burnett got on the board with two.

Barnes was the leading scorer for the Warriors with 14 points. Ensminger scored four points.

Moundridge

The Warriors struggled against Moundridge in the first quarter. Barnes, Ensminger, and Lewis each scored a basket but Moundridge dumped in 20 points.

Lewis, Ensminger, and Larsen each scored two points in the second quarter. Moundridge added 14 and the Wildcats were up 34-12 at halftime.

Rylie McDowell got on the board in the third quarter with a 3-pointer. Lewis also scored from the 3-point line. The Wildcats recorded 17 points in the period. PBHS trailed, 51-18.

Barnes and McDowell each had two points to add four in the fourth quarter. Moundridge came up with six.

Lewis was the leading scorer for PBHS with 7 points. McDowell was the second leading scorer with 5.
