Kenneth Leppke

Services for Marion County native Kenneth Leppke, 94, who died June 7 at his home in Albuquerque, will be 11 a.m., Saturday at the Albuquerque Bible Church. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Albuquerque.

He was born Feb. 2, 1928, to Carl and Lizzie Litke Leppke on his family’s farm in Marion County.

The family moved to Albuquerque in his teen years, but he came back to Kansas to attend Hillsboro High School. After graduation he moved back to Albuquerque, where he received a pilot’s license and began a career in construction, erecting metal buildings across the southwest and in Alaska until he retired.

He married Janet Ellis on April 19, 1952 and later divorced. He married Carla Beth Hatton on Dec. 21, 1970. Both preceded him in death.

Survivors include sons Gary of Albuquerque, Dale of southern California, Kenneth Carl of Denver, and Kory of Albuquerque and four grandchildren.

Sister Lucille Klassen and brother Marvin and LeeRoy preceded him in death.
