A pair of Kansas State University graduate students from Marion County were recently selected to join the university’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi academic honor society.
Robin Ottoson, a doctoral student of history from Hillsboro, and Blair Williams, a master’s student of music from Peabody, were among the approximately 140 new initiates.
To be selected for membership, a student must be a second-semester junior in the top 7.5 percent of their class, a senior in the top 10 percent of their class, or a graduate student in the top 10 percent of their class.
Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1897 at the University of Maine and is the oldest all-discipline academic honor society in the United States.
