James Herzet

Mass of Christian Burial for James Herzet, 69, who died Sunday at St. Luke Living Center in Marion, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Florence. Father Isaac Coulter will be celebrant.

Relatives will gather with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church. Rosary will follow. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.

Born Oct. 29, 1953, in Florence to Alfred Herzet Jr. and Betty Jean (Meirowsky) Herzet, he married Janet Garrison on March 3, 1973 in Emporia.

She survives at home in rural Marion along with son Jared Herzet of Shawnee; daughter Jenny Marie Burright of Belton, Missouri; and five grandchildren.

His parents, sisters Mary Ann Ecker and Geraldine Louise Berg and a grandson preceded him in death.

Memorials have been established with Holy Family Parish and St. Luke Living Center.
