James C. “Jim” Harris, 68, of Florence died Tuesday at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.

He was born Jan. 6, 1947, in Stillwater, Oklahoma to William E. and Iva May (Nelson) Harris. He married Theresa Modesto on Jan. 23, 1970. He was an over-the-road truck driver.

His parents and a sister, Earlene Parks, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa of Florence; his children, Craig Harris of Stillwater, Tamie Miller of Perry, Oklahoma, Justin Garr of Strong City, William Harris of Florence, Edward Harris of Pine Top, Arizona, Richard Harris of Wichita, and Patricia Harris of Port Arthur, Texas; and siblings, Rosemary Ritter of Marion, William D. Harris of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Robert Harris of Salina, Virgil Harris of Killeen, Texas, and Juanita Kearns and Jeanita Hover, both of Stillwater.

A memorial service beginning with the Rosary at 10 a.m. will be held Friday at Holy Family Parish, St. Patrick’s Church in Florence. The Mass follows at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Florence. A memorial fund has been established for St. Patrick’s Altar Society.
