James Beach Jr.
James “Jim” Corbett Beach Jr., 86, of Augusta, died April 14 at his home.
Born Nov. 30, 1923, in Checotah, Okla., to Corbett James Sr. and Mary Cora (Duke) Beach, he was retired from Chance Industries as a customer service representative and was owner of HRK Warehouse in Marion.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On Dec. 15, 1960, he married Bernice McCombs in Miami, Okla.
A grandson Tony Gomez, granddaughter Misty Childs, sister Margie Beach, and brother Paul Beach preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice of Augusta; two sons, Corbett III of Wasilla, Alaska, and Jim Ball of Oakley; five daughters, Peggy Gomez, Sherry Pressler, and Charlotte Dorr of Tulsa, Connie Donnelley of Leon, and Jan Lanier of Augusta; a brother, Donald of Bristow, Okla.; a sister, Lil Steffonaff of Tulsa; 24 grandchildren; and 52 great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday afternoon at Haverhill Christian Church, Augusta.
Burial was in Leon Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society in care of Dunsford-Zeiner Funeral Home, 201 E Fifth Avenue, Augusta KS 67010.
