Indian Guide sponsors holiday food drive again

Staff writer

Indian Guide manager Ruth Lott has announced the management group for the apartment complex, Wiegand-Omega Management Corp., is once again sponsoring food drives at their managed properties.

“The nice thing about working with them is that whatever food items we get stay here in Peabody,” she said. “The same goes for their other properties. The food doesn’t go to Wichita or another town, Peabody folks get the benefit of whatever is brought here to Indian Guide.”

The drive has started and will continue until Nov. 18. She said people have already started to give.

“Anyone can donate,” Lott said. “There is an area in the entryway to leave it and the front door is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. so it is pretty easy to drop off the items.”

Lott reminds that only non-perishable food items are acceptable.

“Anything canned or boxed up,” she said.

All of it will be donated to Peabody Food Bank to be distributed to local families.
“It all stays right here,” Lott said.
