Theresa Harris

Services for Theresa Harris, 73, who passed away Jan. 18, 2022, at Newton Medical Center, were today at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Florence with a private interment at Florence Cemetery.

Theresa’s life began on Feb. 26, 1948, in Florence. She was the loving daughter of Gavino and Paula (Arellano) Modesto and a 1966 graduate of Florence High School.

Theresa was united in marriage to James Harris on Jan. 23, 1970, in Newton. To this union there were four children: William, Edward, Richard, and Patricia.

Theresa was the owner of Quality Oil and a homemaker. She loved and enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

Her loving family includes children William (and wife Jessica) Harris of Florence; Edward (and wife Chalsey) Harris of Lakeside, Arizona; Richard Harris and Patricia Harris, both of Florence; Craig (and wife Beth) Harris of Tulsa; Tammy Harris (and husband Steve Miller) of Perry, Oklahoma; and Justin (and partner Scott) Garr of Strong City.

Other loving survivors include sisters Pat Sanz of Ceres, California; Lydia Torres of Los Angeles; Veronica Soto of Austin, Texas; Serapia (and husband Luis) Ibarra of Grants, New Mexico; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, sister Grace Avila, and brother Paul Modesto.
