Sally Matz

Services for Margaret “Sally” Carol (Clark) Matz, who passed away June 1, 2022, at 98 years old, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peabody.

The family will greet friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. 

Margaret was born Sept. 12, 1923, to George and Ida Clark and raised in the Summit area. She attended and graduated from Burns High School. She married Allen “Bud” Matz, and their family made its home in Peabody. 

Margaret is survived by her daughter Carol (Matz) Reynolds (and husband Mike) of Peabody; son Kirk Matz (and wife Debbie) of Hesston; daughter-in-law, Denise Matz of Marion; grandchildren Angela Aldershof and (husband Steve) of Newton, Heather Calhoun (and husband Mike) of Newton, Jessica Matz of Hesston, Alisha Freeman (and husband Cole) of Manhattan, Jason Matz (and wife Shelby) of Tulsa, Hollee Reynolds of Newton, and Andrew Reynolds of Peabody; many great-grandchildren; brother Gordon Clark of El Dorado; and sister Sherol Nightengale of Burns. 

Margaret was preceded in death by husband; sons Terry and Craig Matz; brothers Bill Clark, Ivan Clark, Oswald Clark, and Willard Clark; and sisters Maude Gaines, Norma Riggs, and Joyce Barker.

She worked as a medication aid and volunteered at Northview Opportunity Center.

She was an active member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Peabody.
