Rita Lindabury

Services for Rita Gretchen (Rudolph) Lindabury, 78, of Topeka, who passed away October 14, 2021, will be Thursday and Friday.

Lindabury will lie in repose from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home in Topeka. Rosary and mass will be celebrated at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Marion as well as livestreamed on the Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home Facebook page at 10:30 a.m. Friday, with burial afterwards.

Rita was born May 30, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, as the daughter of Matthew R. Rudolph and Zella Wylie (Borton) Rudolph.

She graduated from Lillis High School in 1960. She began her working life as a keypunch operator. Later, she danced as a showgirl in Atlantic City with aspirations of Hollywood stardom.

She returned to Kansas in 1978 and married Donald C. Lindabury in Topeka in 1981.

Rita is survived by son Michael Makovec; daughter-in-law Julie; grandchildren Kaven, Abrianna, Danyala, and Gabriel Makovec; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dennis Rudolph, and husband Donald Lindabury.
