‘Pops’ Riebold

Richard Keith “Pops” Riebold died July 11, 2019, surrounded by family while under the care of Good Shepherd Hospice.

Pops was born Dec. 18, 1950, in St. Louis. He worked as a cable installer until his retirement and move to Marion in 2009.

He loved to play poker but his true passion was to fish. And his favorite pastime was to sit on his front porch and watch traffic go by.

He is survived by wife Marilyn “Betty” Riebold of the home; mother Wilma Aydt of St. Louis; sister Renea Riebold of St. Louis; sons Tracy Micheal Novy from Haltom City, Texas, and Kevin Riebold from North Richland Hills, Texas; Rick Riebold and Jason Riebold from Indiana; daughter Diana Riebold of St. Louis; and bonus children Keisha Fischer of the home; Rowdy Unruh of Reed Springs, Missouri; and Emily Tessendorf of Newton.

He also is survived by 15 grandchildren, long-time friend Steve Unruh of Branson, Missouri, and extended family Amie Unruh and her daughter, Ivy Unruh, and sister in-law Nanette Lowry of Marion.

There will be a celebration of life for Pops from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 18, 2019, at Marion County Lake Hall.

It would have been Betty and Pop’s 19th wedding anniversary. All in attendance are encouraged to bring a side dish, fishing pole and swim gear. Meat and drink will be provided. Everyone is welcome.
