Jackie Hett

Celebration of life for Jacquelin “Jackie” Louise Hett, 93, who peacefully passed away surrounded by family Friday, March 18, 2022, at St. Luke Hospital in Marion, was 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Aulne Church.

Family greeted friends after the celebration of life, which was led by Lucas Zurcher.

Jackie’s life began March 20, 1928, in Enid, Oklahoma. She was a daughter of John and Blanche (Ware) Manuel.

Jackie graduated from Peabody High School in 1946. That summer, on July 20, she was united in marriage to Walter Hett at her parents’ home outside of Peabody. Jackie and Walt then settled east of Marion, where they ran their family farm and ranch.

Besides being a full-time rancher, she had many other jobs, including working at the El Dorado Livestock Auction and as bookkeeper for several businesses.

Jackie enjoyed horseback riding, attending rodeos, and her grandkids’ sporting events. She loved playing cards in the evenings with several groups of friends, swimming, tending to her flowerbeds, traveling, and baking her famous cinnamon rolls.

She loved her church family and acted as church treasurer for many years. Most of all, Jackie loved her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents John and Blanche, husband Walt, son Steve, and sisters Dorothy and Geraldine.

Survivors include daughters Melanie Ensey (and husband Larry), Melinda Helmer (and husband Kendall), and Melissa O’Sullivan (and husband Tim).

Grandchildren include Kelley Schafers (and husaband Travis), Amy Russel (and husband Mike), Ed Svitak, Jeremy Ensey (and wife Tammy), Jeff Ensey (and wife Laura), Jared Ensey (and wife Kathy), Joel Ensey (and wife Laura), Lesie Beytien (and husband Seth), Lauren Hartland (and husband Tim), Erica DeMeritt (and husband Ron), Emily Carter (and husband Noah), Ryan O’Sullivan (and wife Senushi), and Madeline O’Sullivan (and husband Mark Hayes).

Great-grandchildren include Jay Dee, Emily, Trevor, Peyton, Paige, Abree, Zeke, Elizabeth, Julia, Aaron, Elise, Daniel, Ezra, Zane, Isaac, Vivan, Lucy, Adalyn, Avery, Nora, Gemma, Kai, Ari, Indi, Liv, Rowan, Finn, Lael, Sienna, and Rhys.

Jackie also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
