Services for Harvey William Wells, 92, of Holton, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023 at Medicalodge Jackson County, were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023, at Mercer Funeral Home,
Burial with military honors was at South Denison Cemetery. Relatives greeted 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, at Mercer Funeral Home, Holton.
Harvey was born July 29, 1931, in Hamburg, Iowa, to Lester Dean and Nellie Marie (Mount) Wells.
He attended rural high schools and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for Ford Motor Co. for more than 31 years, retiring in 1987 as assembly supervisor.
Harvey was a member of the Larkinburg Christian Church and Meriden Order of Eastern Star and a 50-year Mason, most recently of the Mayetta Masonic Lodge 393.
Harvey married Pamelia Ann “Pam” Magill on May 19, 2012, in Florence. They celebrated over 11 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Wells, of the home; daughter-in-law Carrie Wells of Gladstone, Missouri; stepsons Paul Wikoff (and wife Susan) of Florence and Russell Wikoff (and wife Cindy) of New Berlin, Wisconsin; sisters Helen Rice of Gladstone, Missouri; Darlene Dise-Brucker of Laguna Niguel, California; Carolyn Glassman of Villa Park, California; Minnie Arnhold (and husband Allen) of Topeka; and Janet Brady (and husband Karl) of Lemon Grove, California; brother Harold McAlexander of Denison; granddaughter Chantel Peppers (and husband Nathan); great-grandchildren Clayton and Kayden; five step-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Wells and Nellie McAlexander; son, Michael Wells; sisters Loveta Evensdorf and Mildred Lester; and brothers Roy and Junior McAlexander.
