Frances Stuchlik

Frances A. Stuchlik, 97, Marion, passed away Oct. 24, 2019, at her home.

Frances’ life began on Dec. 4, 1921, in rural Marion. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Lentz) Holub. Frances is a graduate of Marion High School.

She was united in marriage to Richard C. Stuchlik on Feb. 24, 1941, in Wichita.

Frances worked as a seamstress in Herington in the garment factory and at home for many brides, bridesmaids, and her own family. She never tired of work. Even at the age of 87, Frances worked in the kitchen of the Lutheran nursing home in Herington.

She was a faithful parishioner of Holy Family Parish in both Pilsen and Marion and had been a member of the St. Anne’s Altar Society.

Her greatest joy and accomplishment was her loving family which includes her surviving children, Ramona Beisel of Maize, Ruby (Greg Wilkinson) Scharping of Wichita, Monty (Sarah) Stuchlik of Lost Springs, Terry (Grace) Stuchlik of Emporia, Mark (Roberta) Stuchlik of Edmond, Oklahoma, Ken (Malinda) Stuchlik of Marion, Bill (Conna) Stuchlik of Rogers, Arkansas, Tom (Carol) Stuchlik of Berryton, Randy (Karen) Stuchlik of Wichita, Larry (Susan) Stuchlik of Lehigh, and John (Chandra) Stuchlik of Scandia; daughter-in-law Maralyn Stuchlik of Wichita, and son-in-law Len Miller of Cave Springs, Arizona; 46 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren; and her brother Joe (Lana) Holub of Haysville.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard; sons Wayne, and Father Reverend Richard Stuchlik; daughter Rebecca Miller; sons-in-law Stan Scharping and Don Beisel; and three siblings.

Frances’ family gathered with friends Tuesday. Rosary prayers will be offered at 10:30 a.m. today at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pilsen, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by Father Brian Bebak. She will be laid to rest in Pilsen Cemetery.
