Donald Keazer

Donald L. Keazer, 72, passed away Monday at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.

Donald’s life began on May 4, 1947, in Marion. He was the son of Curtis W. and Violet Mae (Weber) Keazer.

Don was a 1966 graduate of Wichita North High School and Butler County Community College.

He served his country in two branches of the military, first in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 through 1972 and later served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1981 through 2000. Don was the former Chief of Police for the City of Marion, a transport deputy for Marion County and had been a truck driver.

He was united in marriage to Loretta (Smith) Keazer on Oct. 1, 2016, in Marion. Don was a member of the Aulne Church.

He was an avid fisherman, Green Bay Packers fan, Boston Red Sox and Wichita State fan.

He is survived by his wife Loretta of Marion; children Mikki (Seth) Larson of Marion, Casey (Kelly) Keazer of Emporia, Roger Hudlin of Edgerton, and Jason (Kerri) Hudlin of Ketchikan, Arkansas; grandchildren Ashton and Reese Oursler, Curtis, Arien and Nikola Keazer, Zach Hudlin, Elizabeth Headley, Courtney Poley, Kyle Hudlin, Jake Hudlin and Amber Power; seven great-grandchildren; and his brother, Gerald (Sharon) Keazer, of Bentley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Don’s family will gather with friends at 2 p.m. Dec. 15 for his memorial service at Aulne Church, led by pastor Jeff Lee. He will be laid to rest in Claney Cemetery at a later date.
