DeAnna Lee Ramsey-Bryant

DeAnna Lee Ramsey-Bryant was born May 1, 1957, to Delbert Dale and Elnora Elizabeth Ramsey in Lebanon, Oregon. She grew up in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon Union High School in 1975. 

On May 13, 1978, she married Donald Henderson in Reno, Nevada. They were blessed with two children, Misty Dawn and Joshua Dale. They made their home in Lebanon, Oregon. Their marriage ended in 1993. 

DeAnna moved to the Midwest in 1997 to be closer to family after the birth of her first granddaughter. She met and married Randall Bryant on October 6, 2001.

DeAnna worked as a paraeducator for Marion schools for several years, and as a Tabor College cafeteria food service worker. DeAnna enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

DeAnna, 60, lost her 10-month battle with cancer on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Ramsey.

She is survived by her mother Elnora Ramsey of Sweet Home Oregon; husband Randall Bryant of the home; daughter Misty Henderson of Cottonwood Falls; son Joshua Henderson of McPherson; sisters Debbie Harrison of Reno, Nevada, and Donna Ross of Medford, Oregon; aunt Kathy Shutzman and husband, Don, of Lebanon, Oregon; lifelong friend Joy Lara of Requa, California; step-children Laura Bryant of Tampa, Joshua Bryant and wife, Jynifur, of McPherson and Stephanie Ottensmeier and husband, John, of Marion; grandchildren Kaitlyn and Trey Magathan, Raeanne Bryant, Brooklynn and Skylar Ottensmeier, and Joseph, Jackson, and Jermyn Bryant; and many other loving family and friends.

Family and friends will celebrate her life at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Valley United Methodist Church in Marion.

Cremation has taken place and DeAnna will be laid to rest in Marion at a later date. 

The family wishes to thank the caretakers at Harry Hynes Hospice and this supportive caring community for all your thoughts and prayers during this difficult journey and loss. 

Charitable donations may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice or to the family to assist with medical expenses.
