Cindy Taylor

A celebration of life for Cynthia Kay “Cindy” Taylor, 62, Horton, who passed away Feb. 27, 2023, will be Aug. 19, 2023, in Horton.

Cindy was born Aug 18, 1960, in Marion and was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mary; her father, Howard Goddard; her brother, Loren Goddard; and her pet and companion, Marley Goddard.

Cindy moved from Marion to Horton to re-establish a closer relationship with her sister, Linda Kelley.

Cindy is survived by her daughters, Athena Goddard of Wichita and Melissa Pursley-Fisher of Topeka; son-in-law Michael Strotkamp of Peabody; granddaughter Chloe Taylor of Great Bend; and great-grandson Maxton Goddard of Great Bend.

Siblings include Linda Kelley of Horton; Gene Goddard and wife Dora Goddard of Longview, Washington; and Howard Goddard of Arkansas City.

Cindy’s nieces are Sabrina Jenkins and husband David Jenkins of Horton; Candace Specht of Longview, Washington; Margaret Wilson of Longview, Washington; and Lucille Goddard of Longview, Washington.

Nephews are Ernie Williams of Newton, Jerry Goddard of Florence, Willi Goddard of Oregon, and Orville Goddard of Oregon.

Great-nieces and nephews include Blake and Addie Jenkins of Horton, Memory and Damon Clay of Sabetha, and Kayla and Janette of Seattle.

Cindy was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and sister to all of her family.

She was a restaurant owner in Marion and a waitress in Alaska and Kansas.

The last two years, Cindy retired and moved in with her sister, Linda Kelley. They enjoyed shopping, going out for breakfast, and going to the theater.

Cindy will be missed by all.
