Bob Hoffman
Services for Marion native Robert (Bob) LeRoy Hoffman, 68, who passed away in his sleep Jan. 2, 2024, at his home in El Reno, Oklahoma, were Saturday, Jan. 6, at Benson Memorial Chapel in El Reno.
Pastor Danny Hart officiated.
Burial was Monday, Jan. 8, at Grant Township Cemetery. Pastor Carl Helm officiated.
Bob was born Sept. 22, 1955, in Marion, the third child, but second surviving child, of Clyde and Lottie Hoffman.
He graduated from Marion High School in 1973 and in August of 1975 married Margaret Dvorak.
Bob and Margaret moved to Beloit, where Bob worked on a feed lot cowboying.
The couple moved back to Marion and were blessed with a daughter, Deana, in November, 1976, and a son, Frank, in January, 1981.
Bob served as a policeman for the Marion Police Department and worked his way through the ranks to the office of chief of the department.
Bob also went to and successfully graduated as colonel from auctioneering college.
The family moved to Oklahoma in 1990 as Bob got hired at El Reno Federal Correctional Institution as a correctional officer and part of a hostage negotiation team.
Bob met and married Susan Taylor in 1995. Susan had two children, Dixie and Zach. The couple moved to El Reno in 1995 and have lived there ever since.
Once Bob retired in 2011, he started auctioneering more and worked at Tractor Supply in El Reno.
Bob enjoyed working with horses and cattle and was super proud of his family.
Bob was diagnosed in August 2023 with Stage 4 cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Taylor Hoffman; his children and their spouses, Frank and Jamie Hoffman and Deana and Eric Kappus; stepchildren Zach Roberts and Dixie Roberts; brother Ken Hoffman; grandchildren and their spouses Bailey and Derick Moore, Wyatt Kappus, Kody and Brandolynne Hoffman, Emrie Hoffman, Mason Hoffman, Jacob Grauberger, Jayden Grauberger, and Arleigh Jolly; and great-grandchildren Oaklee Hoffman, Maycie Moore, Weston Moore, and Lottie Fern Moore.
