Hughes completes basic training
Air Force Airman Chauncey B. Hughes recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the community college of the Air Force.
Hughes is the daughter of Marc and Lynn (Jones) Hughes of Carney, Okla., granddaughter of Gary and Marilyn Jones of Peabody, and great-granddaughter of Virgia Jones. Her brother, Connor Hughes lives in Stillwater, Okla. She is the niece of Carolyn Anderson and great-niece of Ruby Broce, both of Peabody.
The airman is a 2005 graduate of Perkins Tryon High School, Oklahoma.
She is stationed in Misawa AFB, Japan, for a two-year assignment, working in health information management.
