Sorosis Beta Club members met at the home of Sonja Koslowsky on Oct 17. Katherine Ragland was co-hostess. There were 10 members and 2 guests present. Marilyn Cox opened the meeting with a short devotional thought and members recited the flag salute and the club collect.

Jim Pohlman gave an informative program updating the activities of the HUB. He reminded the group of the HUB’s hours and some of its current needs.

The minutes from the September meeting were read and approved and the treasurer’s report given. Janie Hodges gave the membership committee report. There were no communications or unfinished business. Members answered roll call with suggestions of what they would do with $1 million to better the community.

The November meeting will be held at the home of Lou Ann Gray. Norma Patton won the door prize. The hostesses served a pumpkin dessert, nuts, candy, and drinks. Katherine gave each member a decorative pumpkin with a painted face.
