Howard R. Riggs, 80, died Oct. 4, 2008 at his home in Burns.

Born June 8, 1928, at Burns, he was the son of Thomas and Julia (Bolen) Riggs.

Howard was an Army veteran and served in the Korean War. With the exception of his time in the service, he lived his entire life in Burns.

Survivors include two brothers, LeRoy of Marion, and Carl of Burns; sister, Bernice Harms of Rio Hondo, Texas, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Burns United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Bush officiating. Interment will be at the Burns Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
