Hotel owner named to council

Suzan Barnes, owner of Grand Central Hotel in Cottonwood Falls, has been named to the state’s Council on Travel and Tourism.

“The tourism industry is an essential part of our state’s economy,” Governor Laura Kelly said.

Kelly said she chose Barnes because of her long tradition of promoting tourism in Kansas. She is a representative for the Travel Industry Association of Kansas. Barnes’ appointment is not subject to confirmation by the Kansas Senate.
