Marion wrestlers finished seventh and Hillsboro wrestlers 14th in the 16-team Marion County winter duals last week at Marion and Hillsboro gyms.

Marion finished second in its pool with a 2-1 record, then split two matches in a consolation bracket.

In pool play, Marion topped Rock Creek, 48-33, and West Elk, 60-12, before falling 46-35 to Clay Center.

Royal Valley topped Marion, 54-30, before Marion outscored Wellington, 37-28, in the consolation bracket.

Hillsboro was 0-3 in its pool and split two matches in its consolation bracket.

The Trojans lost 66-12 to Clearwater, 66-10 to Royal Valley, and 66-6 to Fredonia before outscoring West Elk, 24-18, then losing to Bluestem, 24-12, in their consolation bracket.
