Hospital is stroke-ready

The American Heart Association and Kansas State Stroke Task Force announced Monday that St. Luke Hospital and Living Center in Marion is one of 32 hospitals identified as emergent stroke ready – that is able to adequately care for a stroke patient. There are also 10 hospitals recognized as primary stroke centers or 24/7 neuro-interventional center, indicating higher levels of capability.

Specifically, the Kansas State Stroke Task Force identified St. Luke Hospital and Living Center as being able to diagnose, treat, and transport acute stroke patients to a higher level of care if needed.
