Hope in the Heartland, true beauty

Gracepoint Church, Peabody

A long time ago, a friend of mine sent me a postcard that shows a man with up stretched arms hollering at a hovering spaceship, “Take me! Take me!” The aliens answer, “No. You’re ugly.”

I still chuckle when I read it.

We should be glad that when Jesus comes it is not going to be a contest to see who is the most physically attractive.

He will be collecting those who have responded to His love by believing in Him. He will look at the content of your heart and soul.

Is there faith there?

Our inner beauty is the product of grace. Otherwise we would be ugly — the consequence of sin having stained our lives.

With the forgiveness that is offered by faith in Christ, the ugliness of our sin is removed.

We become new creations in Christ, and that is beautiful to God.

The Lord will be glad to take us to heaven for eternity. He really wants to do so!

Salvation was His idea, and if you are “in Christ” then you will hear him say, “Yes, I will take you because you are beautiful.”

Let God make you new by believing in Jesus today.
