The devil has a bounty system. Your soul is his target.
The Apostle Peter wrote, “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (I Peter 5:8)
The Apostle Paul told us to “Put on the whole armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:11-12)
Imagine the worst TV or movie villains, you know, the ones that scared the socks off of you and made you sleep with the lights on. The devil is worse. Recall to your mind the worst tyrants and dictators who’ve ever ruled with an iron and bloody fist. The devil is worse.
Christians should stay alert to Satan’s agenda, but should not be paralyzed by fear. Why not? Because “the Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.” (I John 3:8)
