I just got my first pair of overalls, and I love them. Who couldn’t love something that has so many pockets? I was finding things to stuff in all the pockets just because they were there.
I mean, I never know when I’m going to need pliers, electrical tape, keys, a tape measure, adjustable wrench, sunflower seeds, wallet, gloves, pocketknife, zip-ties, a roll of wire, or a ½-inch socket set. And there’s even that loop thing on the side for a hammer.
Have you ever noticed that we go through our existence filling our lives with “stuff?” But the whole time we’re stockpiling the items and experiences we think are important, there’s that tickling sensation at the back of our minds that reminds us we can’t take it with us when we die.
Jesus said, “Do not store up … treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up … treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal; for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)
So, have you packed anything away for eternity?
