Holly Unruh

Holly Marie Unruh, 43, of Cedar Vale, Kansas, passed away Nov. 16, 2018 at her home in Cedar Vale.

Holly was born in Goessel, Kansas, to Rex M. Unruh and Jody L. Claassen Unruh. She grew up and attended school in Peabody, Kansas, where she graduated from high school.

Holly attended dental hygiene school at Bryant Institute. For the last 2½ years she owned and operated McDonald’s Used Book Store in Arkansas City. The bookstore was her passion.

Holly lived in Peabody and Wichita before moving to Cedar Vale 12 years ago. 

Holly’s favorite hobby was reading. She loved reading to her daughter. She also loved going to the river in the summer, and playing fantasy board games.

Holly is survived by her fiancée, Marvin Smith of Cedar Vale, Kansas; daughter Payton Smith of Cedar Vale, Kansas; son Trevor Angwin of El Dorado, Kansas; brother Justin Rempel; sisters Jennifer D’Souza and Stephanie Hurst; mother Jody Rempel and stepfather, Dave; father Rex Unruh and stepmother, Debbie; maternal grandparents, Judy and Norm Claassen; half-brother Sean Unruh; stepbrother Devin Unruh; stepdaughter Breanna Randall, and stepson Brandon Angwin; along with many other family and friends.

There will be a celebration of life 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Peabody American Legion.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support this past year.
