Trojan cross-country team is conditioned for success

Second-year coach Brielle Loewen is back for another cross-country season in Hillsboro and brings with her a few key athletes: Ainsley Duell, Moriah Jost, Trudy Hein and Grace Hein.
“Ainsley Duell and Moriah Jost are our returning seniors and they should have a good season,” Loewen said. “A lot of the team did conditioning this summer, which has helped them as the season started.”
The team had its first meet Sept. 1 at Smoky Valley and placed 3rd overall.
Returning senior Ainsley Duell finished with a team best time of 23:25.99.
“We have some freshman joining us this year – Casen Steinert, Quinlyn Funk and Nora Hein,” Loewen said. “I am hoping that by the end of the season we can get PR’s (personal records) all around.”
The team will compete again Saturday in Wamego.
