Hillsboro police report

Feb. 5: A dog complaint was checked. A warning to obey traffic laws was issued to several children riding bicycles. Officers received preliminary breath testing training. A harassment complaint was checked; a Peabody citizen complained about being harassed by a Hillsboro citizen. Officers worked a non-injury vehicle accident. A child welfare check was performed.

Feb. 6: A dog complaint was checked. A theft report was taken in the 300 block of South Birch Street. A subject reported that someone had stolen several guns sometime in the last several months; the victim had just regained possession of the house from his ex-wife when he found them missing. A PFA violation was reported in the 700 block of West Grand Avenue. Officers instructed a DARE class at Hillsboro Elementary School. Officers assisted a motorist.

Feb. 7: Officers received training in use of breath testing equipment. The Hillsboro Police Department K-9 unit received a donation from the Hillsboro Community Fund. Officers assisted with a vehicle inspection. A motorist was assisted.

Feb. 8: A property dispute was mediated. A non-injury vehicle accident was worked. Officers assisted Social and Rehabilitative Services with an investigation. Officers instructed a DARE class at HES. A parking complaint was checked.

Thursday: A person reported the theft of a credit card. A dog complaint was checked. Stolen property was returned to owners. A person was removed from digging through a Dumpster.

Friday: A dog complaint was checked. Officers instructed a drug awareness class for probation officers. Officers worked with a community service worker. A disturbance complaint in the 500 block of East D. Street was checked; people became unruly when a clerk refused to sell them alcohol due to their intoxication.

Saturday: Officers assisted Emergency Medical Services. Officers assisted a motorist. An altercation was reported in the 200 block of South Washington Street; A woman’s ex-boyfriend forced entry into the residence and assaulted the current boyfriend.
