Police Report

Sept. 18: A person reported that her juvenile son had been struck by another child. A person reported that several males were harassing employees in the 500 block of East D Street.

Sept. 19: Officers checked a 911 disconnect at Tabor College. A theft was reported in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Subject reported that he had $30 stolen while at a local store. A dog complaint was filed in the 100 block of S. Washington Street. A camper was assisted in Memorial Park.

Sept. 20: A bicycle complaint was filed on Main Street. A person was fingerprinted for employment.

Sept. 21: Officers worked non-injury accidents in the 100 blocks of West F Street and North Main Street. A curfew violation was reported in Memorial Park.

Sept. 22: Officers assisted the Marion County Sheriff’s office with a disabled vehicle on U.S. 56. Officers checked a 911 disconnect at Tabor College. Officers provided a funeral escort and assisted SRS with a child abuse case. A traffic complaint was filed in Hillsboro Heights. An animal welfare concern was filed. Officers assisted Sheriff’s officers with an investigation.

Sept. 23: Officers checked a 911 disconnect at Tabor College. Officers assisted a motorist in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A disturbance complaint was filed in the 300 block of N. Lincoln Street; person reported having an unwelcome guest who would not leave.

Sept. 24: A vandalism report was filed in the 300 block of N. Jefferson Street; person reported someone threw eggs at his car. Officers assisted Kansas Highway Patrol troopers with a driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Sept. 25: An Officer located a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of East C Street; officer discovered that the person, still in the vehicle, struck a sign in front of Tabor College; the driver was arrested, accused of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and possession of marijuana. A traffic complaint was filed at Ash and A streets; children were playing with peddle cars in the street. A cat bite was reported at Hillsboro Community Hospital.

Sept. 26: A report of vehicle repossession was filed. An non injury accident was worked in the 300 block of South Adams Street. Vandalism was reported in the 200 block of Floral Street; subject reported someone had deliberately scratched her vehicle. An abandoned vehicle report was filed in the 100 block of West Grand Avenue.

Sept. 27: A person reported an ownership dispute with her vehicle. Officers attended municipal court. A parking complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Adams Street. A verbal domestic disturbance was reported in the 500 block of East First Street; subjects were separated for the night. A child custody dispute was investigated in the 300 block of North Lincoln. A noise complaint was filed at Tabor College. A dog complaint was filed at 400 block of South Washington.

Sept. 28: A skunk complaint was filed in the 300 block of North Main Street. A curfew violation was reported in Memorial Park.

Thursday: A non-injury accident was worked in the 600 block of South Ash Street. Officers assisted with “Big Truck Night” at Hillsboro Elementary School. There was a report of an injured child, harmed in a go-cart accident in the back yard of a private residence.

Friday: Officers assisted with the Hillsboro High School pep rally at Main Street and Grand Avenue. Officers assisted the Sheriff with an injury accident on U.S. 56 and assisted military with a background check. Officers delivered an emergency message in the 500 block of South Adams Street. A Commercial alarm was investigated in Hillsboro Heights. Officers assisted with cattle on U.S. 56.

Saturday: Several parking violations were reported in the sports complex. An intoxicated person was reported at Ash Street and Grand Avenue. A child custody complaint was filed in the 200 block of South Birch Street. A gas leak was reported at Wilson and A streets. Suspicious activity was reported in the 100 block of North Main Street.
