April 4: A dog complaint was reported in the 400 block of North Jefferson Street. A domestic disturbance in the 400 block of South Birch Street was determined to be a verbal dispute between a male and a female. McPherson Police Department received assistance with an investigation.
April 5: An officer instructed a DARE class at Hillsboro Elementary School. Firearms training was given to officers. A bicycle was reported stolen in the 300 block of South Main Street. Assistance was provided to McPherson Police Department with an investigation. A stolen bicycle was recovered. A suspicious person was reported in Memorial Park. A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of South Cedar Street. Emergency medical services personnel received assistance with a call on Indigo Road. An abandoned bicycle was recovered in the 100 block of West Grand Avenue. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with an investigation.
April 6: Officers from Hillsboro Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, and Kansas Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of South Date Street. Numerous items were seized and a Hillsboro man was arrested on drug-related charges. A domestic disturbance in the 900 block of East D Street was determined to be a verbal confrontation between a male and a female.
April 7: Harvey County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with an investigation. Assistance with an investigation also was provided to Canton Police Department. A camper hook-up was provided in Memorial Park. The sheriff’s department received assistance with a non-injury accident on Indigo Road. A DARE class was taught at HES.
April 8: Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s department and KBI with investigations. Damage was reported at the sports complex fence when it appeared that a vehicle had struck the fence. A camper hook-up was provided at Memorial Park. School administration received assistance with suspicious activity at Hillsboro High School. Assistance was provided to someone in moving a beehive in the 300 block of South Washington Street. A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of North Ash Street.
April 9: The airport was checked for a missing aircraft. Juveniles were reported climbing on the roof of a business in the 100 block of North Main Street. A report of suspicious people was checked on Willow Road.
April 10: Officers participated in firearms training. An abandoned bicycle was recovered in the 400 block of East Grand Avenue. A dog complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Washington Street. A domestic dispute was reported in the 800 block of East D Street.
April 11: EMS received assistance with a call in the 200 block of Floral Drive. Officers participated in K-9 training. Suspicious activity was checked on B Street.
April 12: A delivery vehicle was reported driving at a high rate of speed through residential alleys. A parking complaint was filed in Memorial Park. A dog complaint was reported on U.S. 56. A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A DARE class was taught at HES. Several disorderly juveniles were reported in the 100 block of West Grand Avenue. A domestic disturbance was reported in the 400 block of South Birch Street between a male and a female; the male was removed from the residence. An individual reported the speakers from his vehicle had been stolen in the 200 block of South Date Street. A juvenile was reportedly attempting to climb on a downtown business. A motorist received assistance in the 600 block of North Ash Street. Assistance was provided to Olathe Police Department with an investigation. Radar units were recertified. Assistance was provided to Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services with an investigation and a court services officer was assisted.
April 13: A suspicious person was checked in the 200 block of North Washington Street. A complaint was made of a delivery driver traveling in excess of the posted limit through residential areas. Lawn furniture that was abandoned on private property in the 400 block of North Jefferson Street was recovered. An individual reported the theft of $180 but the money was located later and had not been stolen. A parking complaint was reported in the 300 block of South Ash Street. Several juveniles were reported pulling on street signs at Grand and Date streets. Suspicious activities were reported at Hillsboro High School and in the 500 block of North Ash Street. An individual in the 500 block of South Washington Street reported someone was texting them excessively, which was determined to be a civil matter.
April 14: Charges are pending against an adult male after a violation of protection from abuse order in the 100 block of South Adams Street. A possible child sexual abuse case is under investigation by SRS; the incident may have occurred outside of Hillsboro. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A Homeland Security background investigation was provided. A wallet was found and given to authorities; the owner was located. An officer rescued a puppy under a porch for its owner. A DARE class was taught at HES.
Thursday: An officer assisted an individual in recovering his children as per a court order. A disturbance was reported in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street and determined to be a verbal dispute between apartment tenants. A snake was removed from a residence in the 900 block of East D Street. An officer assisted with an underage drinking awareness program at HHS.
Friday: A forensics interview was performed at the child advocacy center. Assistance was provided with an unreported field fire. Hillsboro City Council packets were delivered. Charges are pending after officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of North Main Street between a male and a female.
Saturday: Two adult males were reportedly fighting in Memorial Park; both parties reported being assaulted by the other. Officers provided traffic control at D and Birch streets during a car auction and for traffic following promenade. A motorist received assistance at the sports complex. Vandalism was reported in the 100 block of South Main Street but was determined to be weather-related. Reckless driving was reported in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street. A citation was issued to someone for public urination at HHS during promenade.
