Police Report

Jan. 24: A property dispute was reported in the 100 block of South Adams Street. A civil standby was provided in the 400 block of South Birch Street. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with a residential lockout east of Hillsboro.

Jan. 25: Property was returned to the owner. An officer instructed a DARE class at Hillsboro Elementary School. A noise complaint was reported in the 100 block of North Birch Street.

Jan. 26: A welfare check was conducted in the 100 block of South Birch Street. A dog complaint was reported in the 400 block of South Cedar Street. A noise complaint was filed at Date and B streets. A theft was reported in the 700 block of South Ash Street when $70 was reported missing. Assistance was provided to McPherson Police Department with an investigation. A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of North Birch Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 300 block of East A Street, resulting in charges being filed against an adult male for possession of marijuana.

Jan. 27: Hillsboro Fire Department responded to a garage fire in the 300 block of South Cedar Street. An officer instructed a DARE class at HES. Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services received assistance with an investigation.

Thursday: State of Washington authorities received assistance with an investigation. A motorist was assisted in the 400 block of North Adams Street. Assistance was provided to emergency medical services personnel with a call in the 400 block of Oak Street. Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks received assistance.

Friday: An individual reported his girlfriend had been kidnapped from Hillsboro or McPherson. The girlfriend was located and had not been kidnapped but left the boyfriend’s residence after a domestic disturbance. The sheriff’s department received assistance with a vehicle in a ditch on K-15. Hillsboro City Council packets were delivered. An officer spoke with Tabor College students regarding a couch being pulled behind a vehicle in the snow.

Saturday: It was reported that a juvenile had allegedly pulled a pocketknife on several children. A traffic complaint was reported at Ash and Orchard streets. A motorist received assistance at Ash Street and Willow Road.
